Liliana Mitaishvili

Liliana Mitaishvili People’s Artist of Georgia

Born on September 17, 1937, Tbilisi. Graduated from Vakhtang Chabukiani Ballet Art State School (under the tutorship of T. Vikhodtseva, M. Grishkevich, V. Chabukiani).
During 1954-1979 was the leading soloist at Tbilisi Z.Paliashvili Opera and Ballet State Theatre Ballet Company.
Odette-Odile (Swan Lake), Giselle (Giselle), Chelita (Don Quixote), Nikiya (La Bayadere), Manighe (Heart of Mountains), Javara (Gorda), Marie (Nutcracker), Lise (La fille mal gardee), The Beauty (The Light), Cinderella (Cinderella), Aurora (The Sleeping Beauty), Laurencia (Laurencia), Desdemona, Emilia (Otello), Galia, Natasha (For the Peace), The Young Girl (The Poem).
In 1956 received the First Class Diploma and the gold medal at the Classical Ballet Contest (former Soviet Union).
Since 1979, she has been a Coaching Ballet Mistress at the ballet company of Tbilisi Z. Paliashvili Opera and Ballet State Theatre.
During 1983-1984 worked as the a Coaching Ballet Mistress at the Ulan Bator (Mongolia) Opera and Ballet Theatre.
In 1961 was awarded the title of the Meritorious Artist of Georgia, and in 1972 she became the People’s Artist of Georgia.
In 1997 was awarded the Order of Honor.
